High School Ministry
Back to School
Well, it’s official: everybody, including Carmel, is back in
school. As
we get back into the swing of school we’ll also be launching
into a
fresh, new year of youth ministry.
Our Wednesday ministry will be starting up on September 3. Be sure
to be
thinking of someone you know whom you can invite to come and check
out
our Wednesday time of worship, Bible study, and games. Be sure to write
September 3 on the calendar, 6:30-8:00pm.
On Sunday mornings, in our discipleship groups, we’ll be studying
Surrendering to Jesus during September. In this study we’ll be
learning
how the Lord desires to deepen our thankfulness, strengthen our faith,
and surrender our lives to serve Him and His purposes. It should be
good. Join us at 9am in the high school room.
Service Project: Triathlon
On September 13 our high school service team will be heading over
the
Pacific Grove to help with the Triathlon at Pacific Grove. We’ll
be
manning the drink station on the bike stage of the race. We’ve
been
doing this for the past 5 years and each year it’s been fun,
inspiring,
helpful, and evangelistic.
We’ll be handing out drinks to athletes in the race and, in
between,
giving out evangelistic flyers to spectators. We will need both high
school students and several adults. If you’re interested in joining
the
team, please contact Ben at 624-5551. It is always a great morning!
Please Pray ...
Please pray for the high school age kids of our church as they seek
to
live for Christ on campus. In many ways, Christ is still forming His
life in the lives of our high school students. There are many influences
grasping for their attention.
Please join me in praying that the Lord would continue to grow the
roots
of faith that have been planted in the lives of our high schoolers
to
grow deeper and stronger during this next year—that they would
grow in
their love for the Lord and other people.
Blessings,
~Ben
